Bin Yu is a seasoned data and AI executive with more than 20 years of expertise in healthcare, retail, and hospitality sectors. In healthcare, his focus lies in cost analysis, utilization patterns, and outcome predictions, utilizing cutting-edge machine learning and systems biology models.
Prior to his current role at AvalonAI, Bin served as the founder and CEO of GrowthOps Solutions LLC, a startup specializing in providing consulting services aimed at achieving profitable and sustainable business growth through data and AI strategies and solutions. Before this, he was the VP of Data and AI at Focus Brands, where he was responsible for driving enterprise-wide data and AI strategies, platforms, and solutions across various business domains including marketing, paid media, loyalty, digital, and supply chain, generating an incremental revenue of $48 million.
Bin’s career also includes a tenure as the Director of Data Science at Macy’s, where he led teams to enhance omni-channel customer experiences and improve media effectiveness through predictive modeling and experimentation methodologies. At Air Liquide, he served in multiple leadership roles such as International Senior Expert and Data Science Manager, overseeing AI and machine learning applications in marketing, sales, logistics, and healthcare.
Earlier in his career, Bin held key positions at Quantum Leap Innovations, focusing on biological defense, epidemiological modeling, and human performance modeling, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University, where he led a US Air Force-sponsored project on information fusion.
Bin holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Dalian University of Technology. He has authored over 30 technical papers in the fields of data science and machine learning and has been recognized for his contributions to enterprise data and AI strategy transformation.
